New hope under the leadership of the President of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The EPZ Authority participated in the last forum prepared by Africa Green Revolution Forum(AGRF) and Agricultural Reform which oversees Food Security. The meeting involved leaders from different countries including Presidents from various countries and hosted by H.E. Dr. Samia S. Hassan President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Program of the Vice President of Tanzania, Dr. Hussein Mwinyi President of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar; the forum was also attended by H.E. Dr. William Ruto President of the Republic of Kenya, Hon. Evariste Ndayishimiye President of Burundi, Hon. Macky Sall President of Senegal. Other representatives were; the retired President of the United Republic of Tanzania Hon. Jakaya Kikwete, Elder Goodluck Jonathan retired President of Nigeria, together with Heads of Public and Private Institutions.

They all met in Dar es Salaam Tanzania to highlight the strategy of the issue pertaining to agriculture and food security in response to the food system.

In that context, the meeting classified agriculture as a priority sector, where the responsibility of the EPZ Authority is to facilitate investment in Agro-processing to increase value of row produce and show investment opportunities available in the field of Investment in agriculture.

In that meeting, the President of Tanzania promised to continue supporting local farmers and create a better business environment in the country.
